Please remember, the Director of Personnel and principals must be extremely aggressive when filling available positions and interviews are conducted continually in anticipation of future openings. Principals are fully aware of their school needs and maintain a list of these prospective applicants to consider for future positions. School Psychologist or School Social Worker / 10 month School Psychologist Qualifications: The applicant must hold a master’s degree in Psychology, Educational Psychology, or School Psychology of 30 or more graduate hours from a regionally accredited college or university. Course work at the graduate level must include: 1. Six semester hours in Diagnostic Individual Test and Measurements. This must include experiences in the individual intelligence test. 2. A minimum total of 15 semester hours including coursework in at least 3 of the following 6 general areas: a) Developmental Pyschology b) Educational Psychology or the Psychology of Learning c)Theory and Construction of the Tests or Statistical Matter d) Behavior Modification, Motivation, Counseling or Intervention e) Personality, Abnormal Psychology f) Psychology of Exceptionality - of the Mentally Retarded, of the Gifted and Talented, of the Learning Disabled, or of the Emotionally Disturbed. 3. Six semester hours of supervised practicum or equivalent supervised experiences.
School Social Worker Qualifications: Certification by the SDE as Social Worker Board Certified Social Worker (BCSW). Applications accepted until position filled. |
