SBHS Ed Rising class visits BPSB Central Office
South Beauregard High School students participating in the Ed Rising class visited the BPSB Central Office recently. They toured several of the facilities and heard from administrators who oversee different areas of education in the parish. The Ed Rising program seeks to develop aspiring teachers through engaging high school students in hands-on experiences, cultivating skills ,introducing them to collegiate level course work, and sustaining interest in the teaching profession. The Ed Rising program is a two-year elective credit, with Level I and Level II training, where students can earn JumpStart Pathway credentials, certifications, and college credit. The coursework explores key components of education, like building an educator mindset, the basics of instruction, classroom culture, child development, experiential learning, and lesson planning.
