Federal Programs
Beauregard Parish Federal Programs provide instructional personnel, supplies and equipment to students in grades K-5. This program focuses on providing highly qualified personnel to work with students in math and reading.
A major emphasis of Federal Programs is parental involvement. Computer labs located at schools are utilized after scheduled school hours to encourage parents to spend time with their children in a rich learning environment.
Professional development for teachers and paraprofessionals is another important facet of the Federal Programs. Training is provided in the areas of communication, reading, math, and computer-assisted instruction.
Early intervention is a key focus of the Federal Programs. Elementary students at-risk of meeting the literacy requirements necessary to succeed in school are provided additional instruction/strategies in reading by qualified personnel.

Homeless Education Support and Services
Children experiencing homelessness need a stable, safe, supportive environment. Schools offer consistent educational experiences, teachers, and friends during this transitional time. Contact your school for homeless application.
Who is considered homeless?
According to the federal McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act of 2001 - Title X, Part C of the No Child Left Behind Act, Section 725, the term "homeless children and youth" means:
- individuals who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence; and
-
includes...
- children and youths who are sharing the housing of other persons due to loss of housing, economic hardship, or similar reason; are living in motels, hotels, trailer parks, or camping grounds due to the lack of alternative accommodations; are living in emergency or transitional shelters; are abandoned in hospitals; or are awaiting foster care replacement;
- children and youths who have a primary nighttime residence that is a public or private place not designed for or ordinarily used as a regular sleeping accommodation for human beings;
- children and youths who are living in cars, parks, public spaces, abandoned buildings, substandard housing, bus or train stations, or similar settings; and
- migratory children who qualify as homeless for the purposes of this subtitle because the children are living in circumstances described in clauses 1 through 3.
